Reflection - H808 - idea for eport at ZU

I've been thinking for a number of years on how some sort of training program for instructors could be designed so that it examines "effective integration of IT into teaching", and at the same time provides instructors a chance to collect and share samples of their work. The collective examination of effective IT integration", followed by individual attempts to integrate into their practice, could be used to help identify a set of "best practices" at the institution. The collecting, sharing, reviewing and reflecting on these samples by participants could also be used to give some sort of formal credit for these efforts.

In my more recent move from an EFL instructor to an Education Technology Specialist, much of this but especially the Stefani article has helped revive that idea. The University of Auckland's "Certificate in Academic Practice" certainly makes the concept more concrete. Another example to review is the University of Leicester's "Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice"

There is much to be gained from this 'sharing' of best practice - not least avoiding 'reinventing the wheel' and encouraging general development.
